    Seventy representatives from 31 Philippine schools in Bahrain, China, East Timor, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, and United Arab Emirates and one alternative learning center in Sabah came to Manila on 17 – 20 May 2016 to attend the 14th Conference of Philippine Schools Overseas at The Diamond Hotel Philippines.

PSB Elementary School Pupils Enjoy Nutrition Month Activities

Philippine School Bahrain celebrated Nutrition Month with the theme: “Timbang Iwasto sa Tamang Nutrisyon at Ehersisyo” which focused on establishing the balance between right nutrition and exercise.

Nutrition Month is a health awareness campaign where the importance of making food choices as well as developing and maintaining good eating habits was given strong emphasis through the activities, like drawing contests, collage-making contests, poster making contests, coloring contests, Mommy Chefs, Little Chefs, “Baon mo, ubusin mo” program, Pinggang Pinoy, and poetry & singing contests.

PSB Student ranks 5th place in Bahrain TIMMS Exams

Justine Louise A. Naco, a grade 5 student at the Philippine School Bahrain, placed fifth in Bahrain in the Trends in International Math and Science Study (TIMMS) examinations which was administered by the Ministry of Education of Bahrain. The Recognition Program was held at the Ministry of Education Hall in Isa Town on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 10 AM to recognize the students and the schools that showed outstanding performance in the TIMSS examinations. Dr. Geronimo R. Salem Jr., school director and Ms. Gydabelle B. Naval, elementary school principal accompanied Justine to receive the award. After the Program, Justine Naco exclaimed, “This a huge honor for our alma mater. It also proves the quality of education we all receive at Philippine School (Bahrain).”

Pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika sa PSB

Upang mapanatiling buhay ang paggamit ng wikang Filipino sa ating mga mag-aaral, isang programa ang ginanap sa pagdiriwang ang Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa noong ika-31 ng Agosto na may temang Filipino: Wika ng Pambansang Kaunlaran.

Nakilahok ang mga mag-aaral mula sa lahat ng baitang sa mga iba’t-ibang paligsahan gaya ng pagdisenyo ng bulletin board, pagsulat ng sanaysay at pagbuo ng tula, himig Pinoy at likhang awit, paggawa ng poster at talumpating orasyon. Nagpamalas din ng kakayahan sa pag-awit at pagsayaw ang mga piling mag-aaral mula sa iba’t-ibang baitang, ang Banyuhay Dance Troupe at ang mga guro.

Ang punungguro ng hayskul na si Dr. Ferdinand J. Epoc ay nagbigay ng mensahe na nagpapahayag ng paghimok sa mga kabataan ukol sa kahalagahan ng wikang Filipino sa pagkakabuklod ng lahat ng Pilipino bilang iisang bansa.

PSB Garners Candidate Status to PAASCU

Philippine School (Bahrain) is making history as the first Philippine School Overseas that is now a candidate for Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) Accreditation. The Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP) attested this through a certificate signed by FAAP President, Fr. Antonio S. Samson, SJ, Ph.D.
